Wembly LOVES the Summer Olympics!
Wembly the Pug and his family loved watching the Summer Olympics! In fact, they loved it so much, they imagined what it would be like if they were competing! Check out their amazing imaginary adventures as Olympic athletes! From the opening ceremonies and carrying the olympic torch to showing off their medals on the podium!
Here are some fun statistics about this Olympics: 10,714 athletes competed from 184 countries, 32 sports from Archery to Athletics, Badminton to Basketball, Soccer to Swimming, Table Tennis to Taekwondo, Weightlifting to Wrestling to Wrestling and so much more over 329 events! 32 WORLD RECORDS were broken along with 125 Olympic records being beaten.TEAM USA brought 637 athletes that, between them, brought home 126 medals!!! Way to go USA!!!
Congratulations to TEAM USA for taking home 126 medals (40 Gold, 44 Silver, and 42 Bronze), a total only topped by the 174 total medals garnered during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. What an accomplishment!! Way to go USA!!!
Note: Technically, the 1904 Olympics in St Louis, MO had more (239 total medals), but there were very few countries competing so, it deserves an asterix.
See you back in Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Olympics!!
